CIVC Partners has invested in successful businesses in a variety of industries since 1970. Dallas Capital first partnered with CIVC Partners in 1995 when CIVC Partners and Bill Dallas purchased First Franklin from DLJ Merchant Banking (Now Credit Suisse First Boston). That investment culminated in the successful sale of First Franklin to National City Bank, a 125 Billion dollar bank holding company, August 31, 1999.

Since that time, Dallas Capital and CIVC Partners have co-invested together in several financial service enterprises. On December 15, 2003 CIVC Partners, Bill Dallas and management acquired and provided growth equity capital to Oakmont Mortgage. In February of 2004 Oakmont changed it's name to Ownit Mortgage Solutions. In September of 2005 Ownit sold a 20% minority stake to Merrill Lynch. On December 7, 2006 Ownit exited the business.
